The inaugural Dubai Healthcare City Authority Excellence Awards had two categories - 'Healthcare Innovation Award', which showcased innovative practices and projects in patient care, and the 'Outpatient Clinical Quality Award' which recognized outpatient clinics that have achieved continuous high compliance with the outpatient quality standards of Dubai Healthcare City Authority-Regulatory (DHCR), the regulator of DHCC.

The winners were selected by an independent judging panel which consisted of five members from the Dubai Quality Award judging panel.

The 'Healthcare Innovation Award' had three recipients and the 'Outpatient Clinical Quality Award', 10 recipients.

• The third place was awarded to Dr Majdi El-Halik Paediatric Physical and Mental Rehabilitation Center, for being the first of its kind intensive multidisciplinary and holistic rehabilitation center in Dubai Healthcare City for physically and mentally challenged children.
